What Does a Trustee Do?
Community college trustees set and enforce all college policy, choose an executive (to whom they delegate administrative authority), and establish the college's strategic direction. The duties of a community college trustee are set in Montana statute (MCA 20-15 Part 2. Organization and Trustees) and are further expanded and detailed in the BVCC Board Policy Manual. The BVCC Board of Trustees meets regularly once a month, with trustees also serving on one or more standing committees, which meet periodically. For a sense of BVCC direction and issues, see board agendas and meeting minutes.
